How to avoid battery degradation during long term storage

LineGrip Knowledge-Base:

If you plan to store the LS3 for over 6 months we have the following tips to ensure the battery capacity does not degrade:

• adjust the battery charge to about 40% to 60%
• store the LS3 in a dark and dry place
• avoid temperatures below 5°C (40°F) and over 25°C (77°F)

It is advisable to check the charge every three months, recharging to 40-60% if needed.

Explanation about the 40-60% charge level:
This partial charge minimizes stress on the battery, extending its lifespan and preventing degradation that occurs when fully charged or completely drained.

NOTE!
The battery will not directly suffer damage when stored at full charge but it may degrade notably in capacity if stored at 100% for a year or more.

Storing a drained lithium battery will however always cause irreversible damage.
