Basic operation (no log recording)
There’s 3 basic operation modes:
- ABS (Absolute) mode – always shows the true, absolute load
Toggle between ABS and REL mode by long pressing ZERO.
Pressing ZERO will reset the values min/max shown at the bottom left of the screen
These values show the min/max value seen since the last ZERO press - REL (Relative) mode – shows the load relative to the last load at which ZERO was pressed
Toggle between ABS and REL mode by long pressing ZERO.
Pressing ZERO will set a “user zero” at the current seen load. All consecutive load changes
now are referenced to this user zero. Reducing the load will show a negative value.
On the bottom left of the screen you will see the true load and the value at which
ZERO was last pressed <0>. - PEAK mode – freezes the highest seen load value since the last ZERO press
Toggle between PEAK and ABS/REL mode by long pressing UNIT.
Pressing ZERO will reset this peak value, and start from zero.
All of these modes and settings are retained at power off/on.
The “standard” scan rate is set at 40Hz. This is sufficient for most applications not involving drop-break testing static materials (dyneema, wire, etc.). Whenever it must be 100% guaranteed that a peak load of a drop test may not be missed it is advised to switch to 640 or 1280Hz.
Higher scan rates use more battery power, therefore it is advised to select the lowest reasonable scan rate.
By default the screen will blank to a “lock” after 5 minutes without button press, or load change. This is to save power (the OLED display uses about 80% of battery power when many pixels are displayed). In this state all buttons are locked to avoid buttons are pressed inadvertently.
Pressing PWR and ZERO at the same time will unlock the buttons and show the home screen.
This setting can be adjusted in the User Menu (Power save & lock, and Lock level).
